The Meandering Moose - Frontier Village

Hosts are friendly and welcoming Positive: Charming tiny house- just like the pictures. Nicely stocked with coffee AND cream and sugar, plus the little things you don’t want to buy a lot of for a day or two (spices, no-stick spray, etc)

Except for the bed and the pillows it was a very nice place to stay. Positive: Most of the cabin was as expected. Small front porch for sitting, parking at the door, well equipped kitchen for the small space. Just note the bedroom is upstairs and bathroom downstairs with steep steps. Lots of blankets and a sleeper sofa if needed. Heating was excellent and easy to use with good instructions. They will alert you to northern lights but it stormed the night we were there so no alert just sleep. Very quiet and secluded. A few miles from downtown Fairbanks, but we were hoping to see northern lights and wanted to be out of town. Negative: Warning: The bed is very hard and my husband had to move downstairs to couch in middle of night. Plus the pillows for the bed are WAY overstuffed. Pillows should support your head level with your body but these actually tilted your head to far upward. i went down and stole a pillow from the couch to sleep on. The upstairs roof is slanted and the person on one side will have to bend over to get into and out of bed the entire length of the bedroom. Can be dicey getting up in the middle of the night. watch that head.

We really enjoyed our stay at Frontier Village. It is just outside of town, but not too far away. Feels like you're in the country. The cabin is well appointed with cozy items like blankets, marshmallows, coffee, treats and the best part was the farm fresh eggs we had every morning.

Awesome place to stay! Very cool! Has everything you need and more. Wonderful hosts!
